The City has a significant surplus because of high-performing investments that the City Treasurer predicts will continue, yet the City’s budget has not been adjusted to reflect it, and the City is poised to move investment responsibilities from the City Treasurer to a consultant, on the heels of news that the City’s Finance Director is leaving after a short tenure with the City, as the City is preparing the budget for the next fiscal year. City Treasurer Laura Parisi gives her take.
